WHY THE EDGE MATTERS
The cut decides the joint
Dross, taper and a heat-affected edge all arrive at the weld bay whether anyone mentions them or not. A profile cut badly is a joint fought for the rest of the job, and the fitter pays for it in gap and in grinding.
Nesting is not only a cost question
How parts sit on the sheet changes distortion as much as it changes scrap. On a pressure envelope the shell blank has to come off the bed straight enough to roll.
WHAT TO SEND US
- DXF, DWG, STEP or IGES — or a PDF with dimensions if that is what exists. Drop a DXF into the quote form and it is drawn and measured in your browser before you send it
- Material and thickness, and the grade if it is specified
- Quantity, and whether the part repeats
- Which edges are welded and which are visible in service
- Tolerance that actually matters, and where it does not
